Pacific Safety Center: Active Shooter Training 11.19.19
When an Active Shooter Event Hits: What effect can it have on your claims, your agency and the community.
It’s a sad fact of life in the 21st century that active shootings have become a regular occurrence in the United States. Nobody ever expects to be in an active shooter situation, but they happen without warning. Will you be prepared?
In this dynamic threat environment, it is important that organizations not only prepare their staff to respond to a potential incident, but also collectively determine the processes through which the organization and its staff recover from an incident.
This presentation will cover the shooting that took place in San Bernardino on December 2, 2015. We will go through some of the training and protocol in place prior to the incident and discuss any changes as well as lessons learned from the occurrence.
Ken Hernandez has over twenty-seven years of experience in various aspects of Risk Management and Human Resources for both public and private sectors. His experience includes working as the Director of Risk Management for San Bernardino County, the Risk Manager for the City of San Bernardino and Orange County Sanitation District.
