USCIS released the new Form I-9 on August 1, 2023. This new form has an effective date of August 1, 2023. Employers may use the current Form I-9 (edition date 10/21/2019) until October 31, 2023. Effective November 1, 2023, only the new Form I-9 may be used.
Even if you have been completing the I-9s for some time, there are going to be a lot of questions with the emergence of this new form. We would suggest continuing to use the old form at least until you have a chance to fully review the changes and understand what is required.
During the presentation, Attorneys Claudia Martorell and Amanda Mullane, both with Ogletree Deakins, will guide us through the new form and then answer any questions that you may have about the changes.
