Workplace Violence Prevention - Are You Ready for the New Requirements?
In 2023, Governor Newsom signed SB 553 – a first of its kind workplace violence prevention law – which requires nearly all California employers to create, adopt, and implement written Workplace Violence Prevention Plans. Components of the plan include annual workplace violence prevention training, violent incident logs, employee involvement, leadership responsibilities and the creation and retention of various records. And development and adoption of the Workplace Violence Prevention plan is required by July 1, 2024.
This roundtable will not only offer individuals essential knowledge and skills to effectively recognize, prevent, and respond to potential threats in their professional environment but alsohelp you to create this mandatory plan. A successful program is more than just filling in the blanks, participants will receive tips to ensure that their program is relevant and effective.
